New Discovery
My discovery reveals that Anthony Munday was almost certainly not the first to associate Robin Hood with Huntington. Munday was born around 1560, but crucially, Henry VIII died in 1547. The burlesque song below, from the time (temp.) of Henry VIII, proves that ‘Robyne’ was already associated with Huntington before the first half of the sixteenth century.
